Downtown Los Angeles, California, USA

The San Gabriel Mountains dusted with snow acting as a backdrop to downtown Los Angeles.

It is said to be a rare sight to see and is a little different from the usual view of LA... the home of 'Hollywood' USA.

This unusual view of Los Angeles was sent in my our own 'personal correspondent' at large... my friend Ropa, to whom I am very grateful... and wish him and his wife well on their travels and for supporting my little venture with this blog. Many thanks Ropa and Mrs R! smile

San Gabriel Mountains

San Gabriel Mountains - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The San Gabriel Mountains are located in northern Los Angeles County and western San Bernardino County, California, United States. The mountain range forms a barrier between the Greater Los Angeles Area and the Mojave Desert.

This Transverse Range lies in and is surrounded by the Angeles National Forest with the San Andreas Fault as the northern border to the range. The highest peak in the range is Mount San Antonio, commonly referred to as Mt Baldy. Mount Wilson is another famous peak, famed for the Mount Wilson Observatory. The observatory may be visited by the public."

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog.

Your comments are always welcome. When making a comment, please try and be fair, balanced, honest and try and refrain from abuse... but most of all DO NOT SPAM!

Oh and one other thing... I hate 'Anonymous' comments. If you wish to post anonymously, I would suggest you use the 'Name/URL' option... just omit the URL bit (it is optional and only for use if you have a blog or website that you want to link back to). Use a fictitious name; e.g. 'Angry in Ashford', 'Perriguito de los Palotes' or whatever! Anything is better than 'Anonymous'... and will save confusion!

All this being equal, I shall be happy to publish your comment... thanks!
